You are invited to a free Lunchtime Soapbox talk entitled

Reimagining the city – Fiction that reinvents familiar places

Celebrated young author Lauren Beukes will be in conversation about her work with Sam Wilson.

Lauren is a recovering journalist, TV scriptwriter, award-winning columnist and writer. Her first book Maverick: Extraordinary Women From South Africa’s Past, was nominated for the 2006 Alan Paton non-fiction award and her highly acclaimed novels Moxyland and – most recently – Zoo City have taken the South African and international literary world by storm.

Sam Wilson is the Editor-in-Chief of Women24, Food24 and Parent24, a regular columnist and social commentator and a confirmed book addict.

A delicious and affordable (from R35) brown bag lunch will be on sale at the venue.
